The attention of the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) has been drawn to some videos and pictures circulating on Main Stream and Social Media purporting to politicise the ongoing laudable distribution of One Hot Meal to staff and final year students of both public and private Junior High Schools nationwide.

We wish to emphatically state that the initiative is a commendable stop gap measure by government aimed at ensuring full observance of the COVID-19 protocol.

It is imperative to note that an intervention of this magnitude (with 730,000 beneficiaries in 17,440 JHS) may not be completely immuned from unintended issues, especially when its implementation just started on 24thAugust.

We wish to assure all and sundry that we are taking all appropriate steps to address any issues relative to the implementation of this important intervention

We urge the public and media to be circumspect in their reportage and portrayal of the programme so that its essence and intended purpose is achieved

We also call on all Ghanaians to cooperate with us to successfully implement the programme
