The National Pensions Regulatory Authority has been awarded in recognition of “Excellence in Corporate Governance in Pension” on the African continent in the just ended 2016 3rd world Pension Summit ‘Africa special’ held in Abuja on the 27th to 28th September, 2016 under the theme - Pension Innovations: The African perspective.
The Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Kofi Anokye Owusu-Darko who received the award on behalf of the Authority thanked the organizers for acknowledging the good works of the Authority and rewarding it accordingly. He stated that although the NPRA is young as compared to other pension regulatory bodies in Africa, the Authority’s efforts in promoting and ensuring retirement income security has been recognized.
Mr. Owusu-Darko also used the occasion to congratulate the Board for it policy direction and the staff of the Authority for their dedicated service and hard work towards regulating the pension industry in Ghana. He further reiterated efforts being made by the Authority to achieve its mandate to be recognized as a world class Pension’s Regulator.
World Pension Summit ‘Africa Special’ is an annual specialized summit for Africa, jointly planned with the National Pension Commission of Nigeria. The Summit brought Social Securities and Pension Professionals across the world to present and debate upon specific pension innovations, key scenarios and scheme development.
Global insight and best practices were presented, shared and discussed by renowned international experts focusing on the African continent.
